Mike Miller, Circulation
Director
Mail Tribune, Medford, OR
Mike Miller says, "We purchased the TK Advantage software in
January 2000 and our losses decreased by a couple of thousand dollars for
the month of February." Mike plans to make quarterly reports on the
TK Advantage systems progress. |
Jack
Porter, Circulation Sales Coordinator
Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal
Just a few words about the Kasper Sho-Rack TK
Advantage single copy management system.
We installed the system at the Northeast
Mississippi Daily Journal the first week of May, 2000 and couldn’t
be more pleased. We have found the system to have a very short
learning curve and to be very user friendly. The few snags we have
run into have been handled with ease by the folks at Sho-Rack. They
have been very helpful, and have solved every problem we’ve had.
Though we didn’t expect to, we began to see
measurable results from the beginning. In the four weeks we have
been using the system we have decreased returns by 43% while
reducing the incidence of sellouts by 8%. This has given us a modest
increase in sales during a month that has traditionally signaled the
beginning of the "summer slump".
I would recommend the TK Advantage system to any
newspaper that is looking at an automated single copy system. |

Debbie Jubera, Consumer
Sales and Marketing Manager
(former Single Copy
Manager)
The Beacon Journal, Akron, OH
"The Akron Beacon Journal currently has approximately 900 racks
serviced by employees using the TK Advantage software. The Beacon
Journal has been using an electronic vending system since 1991. We agreed
to be a beta site in 1998, and had the new TK Advantage software
installed in January 1999.
The installation process began
with inter-departmental conference calls between companies. Both companies
discussed questions and concerns about the new TK Advantage software.
Kaspar Sho-Rack sent a programming manager and two technical supports to
install the new software. Our Kaspar sales representative was also present
throughout this time. They arrived on Thursday and left on the following
Tuesday. During this time, their employees installed, set-up, and
de-bugged the system while training my single copy staff who have varied
levels of computer experience.
Kaspar’s staff carefully
listened to our input and modified the software to meet our operational
needs. They willingly made several improvements and changes to increase
the efficiency and compatibility of the software to our office and field
operations. Their staff experienced first hand field applications while my
single copy staff received comprehensive on-site training. The
installation and learning process was a positive exchange of ideas and
applications.
The Kaspar Sho-Rack staff
gave and continues to give 110%. They continue to solve our transitional
confusion and modify the software for operational efficiencies. They have
made themselves available to us on weekends and evenings. They have
provided technical support whenever necessary. The new software has become
an indispensable tool in our marketing and sales strategy."

Alan Newman, General
Manager
Mitchell’s, The World’s Finest Newspaper Delivery Service, New York,
NY
Installation of TK Advantage version 8.0 took a new twist with Mitchell’s. Alan
Newman, and Angela Young, Newspaper Vending Machine Coordinator purchased
the TK Advantage 8.0 upgrade and computer through Kaspar Sho-Rack. All
software and data was loaded in the Shiner, Texas factory and then shipped
to them in New York.
The twist developed with training which was provided over the telephone. A
total of 5 hours over a 2 day period had the system up and running.
"Alan and I are really pleased with the way its working," said
Ms. Young. "The new system is quicker and easier and the support we
receive has been great."
All racks in their route system are located in midtown New York, with many
being boulevard and other modular set-ups. Mitchell’s News Service
services New York Post, New York Times, Financial Times, The Forward, New
York Daily News, Jewish Week, Newsday and Wall Street Journal.
